Jaylah Joy!! To us her name means the LORD smiles with Joy. For those who know Jaylah, God really uses her to bring others joy. She was born with Spina Bifida and hydrocephalus. The day after she was born, she had two surgeries. The first surgery closed up the hole in her spine, where her nerves did not make the right connections. The second surgery was to place a permanent shunt that drains the extra fluid off her brain. Jaylah is paralyzed from the waist down, but she has some quadricep function. Despite her limitations, Jaylah love to be active. Her favorite time is spent in the pool, swimming and playing. In the pool she is just like the other kids. She has no limitations, and you can not tell that she is disabled. Swimming has been the best therapy and has brought such delight to Jaylah. We are so thankful that Ms. Ginny has taught her not only swim safety, but also to swim all by herself. What a blessing and life changing skill she has because of Ms Ginny!! We are forever grateful!!
